WINDSOR REHABILITATION  “REHAB REUNION AND LUNCHEON ON THE LAWN” BRINGS REHAB GRADUATES TOGETHER TO CELEBRATE THEIR RETURN TO THE COMMUNITY

WINDSOR, CT (September 16, 2009)- On Wednesday, September 16, Windsor Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center hosted a luncheon on their front lawn as they welcomed 40 of their former rehab graduates back to the center.

Troy Guntulis, Executive Director for Windsor Rehab described the afternoon as, “an opportunity to reunite staff and patients, celebrate everyone’s hard work and success and honor the focus of this facility…working hard to give our patients the opportunity to heal and return to home."

Celebration was the perfect description, as many former patients and their family members warmly hugged and laughed while reuniting with Tammy Haack, Windsor’s Rehab Director, and the Physical and Occupational Therapists who had guided them back to quality of life many didn’t expect to achieve. Earl C., Gertrude G. and Elsie L. were among several of the honored guests. Not only are all three of them siblings and graduates of the rehab program, they have had four other family members stay at Windsor as well. When asked why Windsor was their families’ facility of choice, they responded, “It doesn’t feel like a nursing home. We feel like celebrities every time we return." Graduates dined on roast pork with rosemary potatoes, listened to cello music gracefully playing in the background and shared many exciting success stories!
